Our event is over, but you can still donate to these two great funds!
1. The Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund (The Greater New Orleans Foundation is the community foundation serving the 13-parish region of metropolitan New Orleans.) It focuses on helping communities on the affected Gulf coast cope with the disaster. This is where you can help shrimping/fishing families and others at risk.
2. The Barataria-Terrbonne Estuary Foundation (from Thibodaux, LA) focuses on preservation of the Barataria-Terrbonne estuary, the delicate coastal ecosystem of the lower Mississippi river, the area most affected by the spill. This all-volunteer group will use funds to save wildlife, and cleanup and restore habitat.
